But none of them were able to make a final deal or willing to give up a fourth-round pick which is why the Lance is finally traded to the Cowboys.
It seems Trey Lance has got his best deal and will play as a backup for the star quarterback Dak Prescott. He will have a great chance at getting his career back on track. But he will have to care and need to stay healthy as injuries have plagued him in his career so far.
On the other hand, the 49ers have a big belief in Brock Purdy and Sam Darnold for the upcoming regular season as they picked them over him even though they gave up a lot a few years ago to draft Lance.
Brock Purdy will play his first regular season game of the season on September 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Also, the Dallas Cowboys reportedly released Will Grier from the squad. According to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys would release Grier after their preseason finale against the Raiders.
