Caleb Williams will not participate in the 2024 NFL draft
The NFL draft is one of the most exciting and life-changing moments for every college football player. This is the day everyone waits for. The excitement, nervousness, and fear, all attack at once, but once you get drafted, this all changes to happiness and celebration.
Every player waits for this moment and does not want to miss it even because of a small mistake. But, recently USC star Caleb Williams shocked everyone. Caleb is currently in his 3rd year of college and a deserving candidate for the 2024 NFL draft.
USC star quarterback Caleb Williams is the current Heisman Trophy winner and the potential No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
However, in a new interview with ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Caleb Williams was skeptical about entering the draft after this season.
“That’s for sure now going to be an in-the-moment decision at the end of the year,” Williams told Thamel. “It’s my third year, and the dream and goal was to go three-and-out. Being around these guys and in college and enjoying it, we’ll have to see at the end of this year.”
Thamel’s ESPN colleague Matt Miller tweeted, “Y’all…if Caleb goes back to USC after this year.”

Matt Miller suggests Williams is not certain about playing in the NFL and appears serious about returning to USC in 2024. He will return if he doesn’t feel comfortable playing for whatever NFL team winds up with the No. 1 pick.
Many players have done this before. There are many players who refuse to play for the team with the No. 1 pick and ultimately force a trade to another franchise. It was a similar technique that worked for John Elway and Eli Manning.
However, we usually don’t see such things leaking so early in the process. Let’s hope for the best and wish Caleb Williams a happy life and a good career.
