Saquon Barkley, a star running back of the New York Giants has announced his official decision on the Giants minicamp. There is something that is not good between Saquon and Giants.
According to reports, the decision regarding the contract extension between Saquon and the Giants is yet to be reached. Saquon Barkley is considered one of the best players in his position and it seems NFL has devalued his position over the years.
Barkley who is searching for a long-term contract extension has announced that he will not be reporting to his team’s minicamp.
“Giants’ franchise RB Saquon Barkley confirmed after the Saquon Barkley Youth Football Camp in Jersey City, NJ today that he will not be at his team’s mandatory minicamp this week. Barkley still has not signed his franchise tender,” Adam Schefter reported on Sunday night.

It is still a question of discussion that will Giants give him a long-term contract. Recently Saquon Barkley was asked about his long-term deal with New York Giants, but he had no appropriate answer.
“I don’t know. I don’t know,” Barkley answered.
“I think they’re open to talking. I’m open to talking,” Barkley said. “I think at the end of the day if you really break it down and look at it as a whole, there is no rush. There is still time on the table to get to July 17. July 17 is not tomorrow. It’s not in a week. That is how I look at it. Maybe that is the naïve way to look at it, I could be completely wrong. But for me, that’s how I look at it. I could be completely wrong. Hopefully. I trust in the Giants that we could get something done.”

“That comes up in the conversation if something doesn’t get done by July 17,” said Barkley, who also specified that is not something he’s thought about much yet.
Barkley later added about the entire contract situation: “At the end of the day, it’s all about respect. That is really what it is.”
