Minnesota Vikings star quarterback Kirk Cousins seems going through a very bad phase of his life.

The NFL season is heading toward its end where teams have to show their best performance to qualify for the Playoffs, but the Vikings’ lead quarterback has suffered a season-ending injury.

The Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers on Sunday for their third straight win. But it looks like they took a big hit in the process as Kirk Cousins.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said the quarterback suffered an Achilles injury.

Cousins has missed only two games since the beginning of 2015. He last missed a game in 2021 due to COVID-19 protocols.

If the MRI confirms the initial diagnosis and Cousins suffers an Achilles injury, his season will finish with 2,331 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and five interceptions.

He was immediately ruled out of the match with an ankle injury and taken to the locker room on a cart for further evaluation.

“The #Vikings have quickly ruled out Kirk Cousins with an ankle injury. He was carted to the locker room after being examined in the medical tent,” NFL insider Mike Garafolo said.

Cousins was in great form this season with a superb performance. Backup quarterback Nick Mullens is also on the injured reserve list with a back injury. So, rookie Jaren Hall served as Cousins’ understudy in Week 8.

A season-ending injury could be a bad sign for Cousins’ career. Cousins is a free agent after the 2023 season.

Fans immediately started to react to Cousins’ injury news.

“DAMN man… Absolutely bummed for Kirk Cousins,” said Pat McAfee. “Positive vibes from all of us to you in this recovery brother.”

“Kirk Cousins never has missed an NFL game due to injury. … The only NFL game he missed was due to COVID,” Schefter shared.

“Kirk was playing at an MVP level. One of my favorite Vikings of all time,” Vikings Central commented.

“This might have been the last game Kirk Cousins plays in a Vikings uniform. Numb.”

“With all sincerity, this truly sucks,” Aaron Nagler tweeted. “Hate it.”

Good wishes to Kirk from our side, wish you a speedy recovery Champ.
