Former Bucs quarterback Tom Brady’s return blows fans’ minds!

For the first time since the 2019 season, Tom Brady is returning to Foxboro Stadium following his departure from the New England Patriots where his former team will host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1.

Tom Brady's return in the NFL

Today, Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced that Brady would be honored at the game. He spent the final three years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, winning a Super Bowl in 2020, after winning six Super Bowls with the Patriots from 2000 to 2019.

The matchup would also be a rematch of Super Bowl LII – Brady’s last Super Bowl loss – against the Philadelphia Eagles, who are fresh out of a Super Bowl appearance.

Nick Foles Super Bowl win, a MVP quarterback

While Patriots fans are excited to see Tom Brady’s return, the Eagles fans also hope that Brady will spoil the party and expect to see Nick Foles – the QB who overtook Brady five years ago – who is also honored.

Honor his father Nick Foles as well then, an Eagle fan replied.

Make sure to invite his Dad, Pats, another fan replied.

Please let us honor the real goat on that day, a tweet read.

My first game at the Linc was a preseason game between the Patriots and the Eagles. 2003. The Patriots blew the Eagles out, a Patriots fan replied.

We own patriots😭😭😭😭😭. They should also honor their owner Nick Foles😂😂, another fan replied.

Can’t wait til they spoil his big day, another NFL fan tweeted.

A lot has changed for both the Eagles and the Patriots since that fateful Super Bowl.

While Bill Belichick is still the head coach in New England, the Eagles fired Super Bowl winner Doug Pederson after the 2020 season and have long fired quarterbacks Nick Foles and Carson Wentz.

The 2023 regular-season opener between the teams will be a battle between Mac Jones and Jalen Hurts, two quarterbacks who have shown a ton of promise in their first few NFL seasons.
