The Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins are set to face off in a highly anticipated NFL game in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday. While both teams have impressive records and loyal fans, there is another factor that adds to the excitement of the game: the possibility of pop superstar Taylor Swift attending the game to support her rumored boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Swift and Kelce have been linked since August when they were spotted together at a Las Vegas nightclub. Since then, Swift has attended four out of seven Chiefs games this season, cheering for Kelce from the stands. However, the couple has not confirmed their relationship status publicly, and Kelce has been coy about answering questions from the media.
During a press conference on Friday, Kelce humorously responded to a reporter’s inquiry about Swift, saying that he preferred to keep his personal life private. He also joked that Swift’s attendance at the games affected the betting odds for his performance.
“When I mention or everybody knows that she’s at the game, the Vegas the over-under on my catches kind of goes up and down, the spread goes up and down,” Kelce said. “I don’t want to mess with any of that stuff, so I’m just going to keep it to myself. The latest status is I got to see her last week. I’m going to keep my relationship personal.”
Swift is set to resume her tour in Argentina next week, and there is no confirmation of her attendance at the game in Germany. Kelce stated that he believes his performance in games has little to do with Swift’s presence and cited some of his career’s significant accomplishments.
“I’ve been to the Pro Bowl, I’ve been to the Super Bowl, I’ve been to the AFC Championship, I’ve been to the playoffs every year,” Kelce said. “I don’t think it has anything to do with who’s in the stands.”
While there are no official betting odds for Swift’s attendance, speculation about her presence at the game continues. Until her attendance is confirmed or denied, the odds remain uncertain, akin to betting odds for Kelce’s receiving yards.
The Chiefs and the Dolphins are both among the top teams in the NFL this season. Only the Philadelphia Eagles, whom the Chiefs defeated in the last Super Bowl, have a better record than both Kansas City and Miami. The Dolphins’ record-breaking season is set to be featured in the next season of the “Hard Knocks” documentary, while the Chiefs have a global superstar dating one of their players.
The NFL expanded its international series to Munich last year, with Germany now surpassing the UK as the league’s largest European market. The game in Frankfurt is expected to draw a large crowd of fans from both countries, as well as from other parts of Europe.
