The former FOX Sports sideline reporter Charissa Thompson made some revelations about her career which shocked the Sports world.

Charissa Thompson revealed that she would fake quotes from coaches when needed.

“I’ve said this before.” “I haven’t been fired to saying it, but I’ll say it again. I would make up the report sometimes, because the coach wouldn’t come out at halftime, or it was too late and I didn’t want to screw up the report. So I was like, ‘I’m just gonna make this up’. Because first of all, no coach is gonna get mad if I say, ‘Hey, we need to stop hurting ourselves, we need to be better on third down, we need to stop turning the ball over and do a better job of getting off the field.’ They’re not gonna correct me on that. So I’m like, it’s fine, I’ll just make up the report.”

Many popular figures and sideline reporters have condemned Charissa Thompson for faking the news reports. Fans are also showing their displeasure.

Former sideline reporter Michele Tafoya joined the Charissa Thompson controversy and called her work a “professional fraud.”

Michele Tafoya said, “Honestly, this makes me sad.” “Charissa is a nice person, but this is professional fraud. If a coach won’t talk to you at halftime, you say that. And if there is no report, then you just don’t file a report at half time. It’s pretty simple. journalistic integrity is paramount.”

Even Charissa Thompson’s co-worker was devastated by her shocking revelations.

Fox Sports NFL sideline reporter Laura Okmin and Thompson’s co-worker said, “THE privilege of a sideline role is being the 1 person in the entire world who has the opportunity to ask coaches what’s happening in that moment.” “I can’t express the amount of time it takes to build that trust. Devastated w/the texts I’m getting asking if this is ok. No. Never.”

Thompson’s fellow sideline reporter Kathryn Tappen also showed her displeasure and called her admission “deplorable.”

She tweeted, “Deplorable. I hold myself to the highest standard in everything I do- I KNOW my hard working colleagues do the same. We earn respect the hard way. To those commenting on the irrelevant role of sideline reporters- beat it! WE ARE JOURNALISTS. THESE actions are not normal.”

Hall of Fame reporter Andrea Kremer and the 2018 Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award recipient “sickened” by Charissa Thompson’s situation.

“As one of only 3 women in the @ProFootballHOF I’m sickened by the insulting mockery being made of sideline reporting, a challenging role primarily manned by women – most of whom understand & respect the values of journalism and are integral, trusted members of a broadcast team,” Kremer wrote.

Veteran sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson reprimands Charissa for her actions. “This is absolutely not ok, not the norm and upsetting on so many levels,” she said. “I take my job very seriously, I hold myself accountable for all I say, I build trust with coaches and never make something up. I know my fellow reporters do the same.”
