TCU linebacker and former Burton Panther De Winters announced he is declaring for the 2023 NFL Draft. At Burton High School, Winters was named District 13-2A-II Co-Most Valuable Player as a junior and was selected as the District 13-2A-II MVP his sophomore year.

Dee Winters, a Burton product, recently declared for the NFL Draft. He announced the news through a long Instagram post. He wrote that the last four years have given me everything I could ever dream of and more. From stepping onto campus as a freshman to playing in the National Championship game, my time at Fort Worth has been nothing short of special. Career as a college football (2019-2023)

As a freshman in 2019, Winters played in 8 games at linebacker for the Horned Frogs, recording 291 total snaps. His game included 27 tackles, 7 assists and 18 stops. He did not break up or intercept a pass, his target QB rating was 112.5.

In 2020, Winters was a sophomore for the Horned Frogs and played in 10 games, taking 673 snaps. He contributed 40 stops, 46 tackles and 18 assists. His target QB rating was a dismal 115.6. As a pass rusher, he recorded 12 total pressures including 8 QB hurries, 2 QB hits and 2 sacks for the entire season.
